HAIR LOSS:
Some folks doing the HHCG protocol have experienced hair-loss. This is a known possibility for a very small percentage of people. It has nothing to do with the spray at all.
The HHCG spray is NOT a hormone; it is a homeopathic-style remedy and doesn't cause hair-loss. It isn't a "side-effect." (see below)
Understand that hair loss (especially during rapid weight reduction) isn't at all uncommon. In Pounds and Inches Simeons mentions hair-loss occurring in SOME of his patients. But, as it relates to HHCG, it typically grows back during/after Phase 3, when we recommend taking a multivitamin.
People have been taking pharmaceutical hCG for over 60 years, and the only known "side-effects" so far have been:
--some hair loss during Phase 2 of the protocol for SOME women and men.
--a potential to aggravate those predisposed to gallstone complications
--a potential complication for those with already over-sized fibroids
--more than the usual discomfort during menses (for some women)
The only long term effects have been: permanent weight loss (as long as one eats sensibly).
Hair loss seldom happens. Now, we understand that if you're experiencing this, that's not very comforting. But bear with us: if this were statistically significant, we'd take it (and ANY so-called 'side-effect') VERY seriously. As it stands, while SOME members experience hair-loss, it isn't listed as a "potential side effect" as it occurs in a statistically insignificant number of cases. That's not to minimize or discount any particular member's feelings/experience if this happens to them, but it points to the phenomenon that, say, if a couple of hundred (of the 25K+) members break their arms during the protocol, we'd list this as a "potential side effect." I'm being a bit 'absurd' here, but my point is serious: There simply isn't enough clinical (or even anecdotal) evidence to substantiate listing 'hair-loss' as a "potential side effect."
Dr Simeons covers almost everything of this nature in his book, precisely why we strongly suggest (and actually require acknowledgment of) reading Pounds and Inches in order to make an informed decision as to whether or not to continue with the protocol. That's not intended to be a, "See! Told Ya' So!" hedge, it's merely an important factor as one decides whether or not to do the protocol.

OPTIONS:
--you can take a multivitamin during Phase 2, but this isn't necessary. If you take one, make sure it contains no starches or sugars.
--don't use any EFA (Omega 3,6,9s) during Phase 2 using HHCG -- these oils may interfere with the homeopathic-style remedy.
