SKIPPING MEALS
Many people ask if skipping meals or items is okay during the fat-loss phase (Phase 2: Burn). The answer is yes, however, Protocol is protocol. Following it exactly will yield the best results: eight items daily; two from each group: Protein, Vegetable, Fruit and Starch. Plenty of water.
So, will it derail you to not eat lunch one day, or, say, skip your fruit portion, if you just don't feel like it? Probably not. But don't do this with the intent of accelerating your losses. In this case, "less is NOT more." You can't shortcut or outsmart this Protocol.
That said, you can omit anything you wish occasionally, but don't make it a habit during Phase 2. And, as we're "on the verge of protein deficiency" during Phase 2 -- we recommend you NEVER skip your protein portion, no matter how much you feel like not eating.
FROM "Pounds and Inches":
"Those not uncommon patients who feel that even so little food is too much for them, can omit anything they wish."
"There is no objection to breaking up the two meals. For instance having a breadstick and an apple for breakfast or before going to bed, provided they are deducted from the regular meals. The whole daily ration of two breadsticks or two fruits may not be eaten at the same time, nor can any item saved from the previous day be added on the following day. In the beginning patients are advised to check every meal against their diet sheet before starting to eat and not to rely on their memory." --page 20
"During treatment the patient has been only just above the verge of protein deficiency and has had the advantage of protein being fed back into his system from the breakdown of fatty tissue. Once the treatment is over there is no more hCG in the body and this process no longer takes place." --page 32
