What is a preset?
It is a place where your body has been before. A weight that it lived for a time and got comfortable with it.
They are a total PAIN to get past!
You lose .2 lbs, then you gain .4 lbs, then you gain .2 lbs, then you lose NOTHING!, the you lose .2 lbs, then 0, zip , nada, then you lose .2 lbs, then you gain!!!!!
All the while staying on the protocol exactly!!!! So...what gives?
You have hit a PRESET!
Your body loves this place and does NOT want you to change what it likes. But you know that it HAS to go down!!
So what do you do?
On page 22 of Pounds & Inches, Dr. Simeons said that a preset (he called them "interruptions" or "reaching a former level") can take from 10 days to 2 weeks to get past!
What can you do?
Only one thing: TRUST the protocol. Follow it! It works! You WILL get past this! You WILL drop more weight.
You WILL put this preset behind you!
Pre-sets near Phase 3:
Now is the time when a preset will work in your favor instead of against it!
If you are at a preset stall near the end of your Phase 2 stop and use it to your advantage. Go on to Phase 3.
You are stuck, so let your body be stuck on that preset and use it as your LSW (Last Spray Weight)! Let it do all the work and you can relax and enjoy your P3! This makes P3 so much easier.
If you struggle past your preset and get under it (finally!) just to go to Phase 3, your body will likely struggle to return to that preset. It can be a terrible time.
Instead, relax. Work with the preset and have a great Phase 3!
After the six weeks of Phase 3, you can do another Round (starting with Phase 1). That way, you'll hit that preset when you begin Phase 2 -- the first week, where we see the most extraordinary losses. Then watch your weight (and that stubborn preset) begin to rapidly disappear. Either way, YOU WIN!
